Sushma is developing wheel force transducers (WFT) in cooperation with the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) in Manesar under the Make in India initiative (Atmanirbhar Bharat) funded by the government of India’s Ministry of Heavy Industries. The project is due to be completed by the end of 2024.
At Automotive Testing Expo India, Sushma’s CEO, Suveer Sadanand, said, “We are showcasing a few products among our many launches, starting with the third-generation steering effort measuring system, where we have reduced the size by half and increased its angle resolution of 0.01. It is completely wireless as standard between display and sensor, with simplified fixtures to easily mount on the steering wheel. Sushma is also developing a steering effort system for two-wheelers, due to launch in the current financial year.
“We are also launching our second-generation IoT-based signal conditioners, which are now miniaturized and can be used with any brand of strain-based torque, force or pressure sensor.”
Sushma is also showcasing its rotary torque tool testing system designed for calibrating high-speed torque tools, with the advantage of testing multiple torque tool brands on one machine. According to Sadanand, this is going to be a major game-changer in the industry because currently every torque tool brand sells its own testers.
The company is also sharing with visitors its recent strategic agreement to represent S. Himmelstein & Co USA products in India, especially focused on EV motor testing among many other applications. Look out for many cross-collaborative announcements from both companies.
“Sushma has been very ambitious, growing at 45% YoY and looking to expand worldwide,” said Sadanand. “We already have a presence in 25 countries with partners in four countries.”
Sushma group’s company, Sushma Calibration and Test Lab Pvt Ltd, has a torque calibration facility for torque sensors from 0.001Nm to 100kNm with the highest uncertainty of 0.01% – one of just four such facilities in the world. It has also just added India’s largest force calibration facility of 3,000kN for loadcell calibration.
Sadanand enthused, “This is the only expo we have consistently participated in every time since 2011. We love this show since the focus is on the test, measurement and calibration community. It’s always great to meet and learn from our customers and connect with new ones.”
Meet Sushma at Booth 1051.
