Update: Tata Nexon EV Max full price list, variant details, equipment and specifications revealed

Tata Motors is all set to introduce the Nexon EV Max in the Indian market on Wednesday, May 11, and a day before its market launch, we’ve got our hands on the updated electric SUV’s ARAI-claimed range, its battery capacity, charging options and some of the confirmed features. Read more to find out what all Tata Motors has packed in the upcoming Nexon EV Max electric SUV.

While Tata Motors has certified a version of the Nexon EV with 136hp, sources tell us that the Nexon EV Max will come with 143hp and 250Nm, which is 14hp and 5Nm more than the standard Nexon EV SUV.
As reported by us earlier, the Nexon EV Max will come with a larger battery – we are told that it will be a 40.5kWh unit – that is 10kWh more than the standard Nexon EV. There will, however, be no change in the boot capacity and the Nexon EV Max is likely to have the same 350-litres boot as the standard Nexon EV.

The Nexon EV on sale currently can only be charged using a 3.3kWh portable charger. However, the Nexon EV Max is expected to have two charging options – a 3.3kWh charging set-up, which will be provided as standard with the car, and a more powerful 7.2kWh option for an extra cost Rs 60,000-70,000. Sources tell us that the Nexon EV Max will take around 15-16 hours for a full charge on the 3.3kWh unit, while the 7.2kWh version will significantly reduce the charging time to as low as five to six hours.
Sources tell us that the Nexon EV Max has been certified for a 437km range by testing authority ARAI, which is over 100km more than the standard Nexon EV – which is good for 312km range under test conditions. In our real-world range test, however, the Nexon EV does 208km and we expect the Nexon EV Max to deliver around 300km of real world range.
The Nexon EV Max will be sold in XZ+ and XZ+ Lux variants. As far as features go, it will come with a long list of items that are not available on the standard Nexon EV. These include an illuminated gear knob with a park mode, electric parking brake, an air purifier, wireless charging, hill hold assist, ESP and cooled seats among others. There will be few differences in the paint shades offered as well, with some options kept unique for the Nexon EV Max.
Dispatches of the Nexon EV Max have commenced in phases, and we are told deliveries will start by late May or early June this year. As far as pricing goes, we expect the Nexon EV Max to start around Rs 20 lakh (on-road), in most cities. At this price, the Nexon EV Max will still undercut its closest rival, the MG ZS EV, which starts at Rs 24.23 lakh (on-road), and comes with a more powerful 176hp motor and a 50.3kWh battery.
